"As a visitor to Perth who likes to see live theatre, this was a terrific show in a great venue. The versatility and impact of the acting and its closeness was most appreciated."
Zen's Red Mouth audience member, July 2007

"Loved the show, I always enjoy the performances at The Blue Room. Artsy atmosphere, but not pretentious, cutting edge performances. Never boring"

“There was a loud crash. A bike flew past my head and then in front of me landed a body, wearing a purple t-shirt, a navy beanie. There was a red pool of blood quickly pouring out onto the paved sidewalk. I dropped my paper shopping bag and knelt down. I’d never seen blood such a beautiful colour…”

Theo is the most confused. Marion is the loneliest. But Hope is the saddest. A new play from Jeffrey Jay Fowler (creator of Zen’s Red Mouth), Michelle Robin Anderson and Natalie Holmwood, Hope is the saddest is the story of a young woman’s attempts to win over one man – the homosexual love of her life – and cure cancer through the love of Dolly Parton.

“…I dipped my index finger into the puddle and held it up to the sun. Then with my other hand I touched the cyclist’s shoulder. I said ‘You’re bleeding a lot.’ He turned over and I looked at his face. From both his nostrils there was a steady flow of vibrant red. I didn’t have a hanky on me. My father had always told me to carry a hanky. I asked ‘Can you hear me?’ and he said ‘Yes, I can hear you.’”
