This story begins as two women put down their suitcases at Rusalka Lake, a place made famous by a mother's disappearance in the '80s. What ensues veers between black comedy, ghost story, and a reassessment of the human heart.
Mythophobic Productions has gained recognition for combining comedy and crisis in previous works Hope is the saddest and Zen's Red Mouth (Winner, 2006 Blue Room Members' Choice Award). The company is dedicated to making relevant and entertaining work which blends performance styles and has strong musical influence.
The Rusalka Thread weaves together East European folklore, detective mystery, romance novel, and the science of being human.
Both the devisors, Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Natalie Holmwood, are 2005 graduates (BA Contemporary Performance) from ECU's School of Contemporary Art.
