“I think in heaven, houses burn down all day. And people just, well, stand around watching”
Fresh from a sell-out Melbourne season comes the hometown debut of Sleepyhead, a chilling gothic thriller by WA playwright Nathaniel Moncrieff, winner of the Fellowship of Australian Writers' Di Cranston Award and shortlisted for the 2010 Griffin Award.
On an isolated property in the woods lives a father and his two daughters – one crippled, the other mercilessly cruel. After their father leaves to borrow money from his brother, the girls are left to fend for themselves.
A murdered chicken… strange phone calls… the spectre of their dead mother… Then, one night, a visitor...
“Sleepyhead is an evocative, thoughtful and provoking journey, well worth taking if you are a fan of good theatre” - Time Out, Melbourne
